What is Youth Ministry?

Call to Discipleship

Youth Ministry is not just a gathering of young people to form a distinctively Catholic community. It is about discipleship.

Here at the St. Leo the Great Youth Ministry program, we seek to foster disciples of Jesus Christ and to inspire high schoolers to enthusiastically embrace their call from God the Father through an intentional participation in the Sacraments, prayer and the life of the parish.

We strive to build a strong Catholic community among high school students in order to help facilitate their continued formation and catechesis.

Finally, we facilitate a spirit of service in imitation of Jesus, by offering service opportunities in the local community and by encouraging a deep sense of generosity and care for others, especially at home and in school.

What is Middle School Youth Ministry?

We host various events, where groups middle schoolers come together to make friends, play crazy games, eat snacks, learn how to pray, and fall deeper in love with Jesus. Come and see! Middle school can be tough, but you don’t have to go through it alone.

Our middle school youth ministry program is designed to:

  • Work closely with the religious education office to offer activities and events to assist in the preparation of the Confirmandi, as well as to plan and lead the fall confirmation retreats.
  • Build a strong Catholic community for middle school students; establishing a foundation to remain connected to their Church in later years.
  • Promote solid Church teaching through interactive learning in a fun and energetic environment.
